A successful implementation of digital screens
Capio Elderly and Mobile Care successfully implemented digital information screens to improve internal communication. Through a process that involved risk analysis, supplier selection, and collaboration between different parts of the organization, they can now more effectively reach healthcare staff who previously missed important information.
The decision to implement a digital screen solution
The decision to implement a digital screen solution was made by the management group of Capio Elderly and Mobile Care, who wanted a better way to communicate with their employees, most of whom are healthcare workers that don’t always have the opportunity to stay updated via the intranet. A project group then began to consider various options before finally choosing PLAYipp:
Free tools: Free tools lacked user-friendliness and necessary functionality, such as scheduling and integration with other systems.
Waiting Room TV: Solutions for waiting room TVs were considered but never became relevant since they didn’t want to show ads to their staff.
The process of finding PLAYipp
The implementation of PLAYipp involved several steps and collaborations.
Risk analysis and supplier selection
The process began with a thorough risk analysis and the choice of the right supplier. Capio needed a solution that was both user-friendly and functional, but also flexible enough to be adapted to their specific needs.
“We needed a solution that was both user-friendly and functional, but also flexible enough to be adapted to our specific needs,” says Eric Bornestav, communicator at Capio Elderly and Mobile Care. “After looking at several options, we realized that they wouldn’t work for us. The solutions were either not tailored enough to our needs or lacked essential functionality like content scheduling and integration with our other systems.”
The search process
“I found PLAYipp by searching for different information solutions online, and I was met by a clear and informative website when I came across PLAYipp. This made it easy for me to get an initial idea of what the tool could offer, and I felt it was worth booking a meeting,” Eric explains.
First meeting and decision-making
After contacting PLAYipp, a meeting was scheduled for a more in-depth presentation and demonstration of the tool. During the meeting, Capio Elderly and Mobile Care received a detailed walkthrough of PLAYipp’s features and benefits.
“The meeting with PLAYipp was very positive. We got a detailed demonstration of the tool, and it proved to be both intuitive and user-friendly. After the meeting, I got the opportunity to test the tool myself, and after that, PLAYipp became an obvious choice for us,” says the communicator at Capio.
Easy screen setup and staff training
Screen installation
The screens were installed, and PLAYipp was integrated with them. Advania helped with the setup and installation of the screens.
“It was a comprehensive process to get all the screens in place and make sure they worked as they should. But with the help of our IT team and support from PLAYipp and Advania, everything went smoothly,” Eric recounts.
Training sessions
To ensure a smooth start, several training sessions were ordered from PLAYipp’s Customer Success department. For Capio Elderly and Mobile Care, it was important that all 150-200 staff who would use PLAYipp and the screens knew how it worked and felt comfortable with the system.
“Victor at PLAYipp held several training sessions, and we recorded some of them so they could be watched afterward. This really helped to reduce resistance and get everyone on board,” Eric explains.
Roles and responsibilities during the process
Communicator
Had overall responsibility for installation and training.
IT Manager
Provided technical support.
Management Group
Responsible for decision-making and strategic oversight.
IT Partner
Advania supplied the TV screens and helped with the setup and installation of the screens.
Collaboration between all roles was crucial for a successful implementation. Meetings, joint decisions, and shared responsibilities ensured a smooth process.
Results and improvements
Since the implementation of PLAYipp, Capio Elderly and Mobile Care has seen a clear improvement in the dissemination of information. The screens have made it possible to quickly and efficiently reach healthcare staff with important information.
“The screens have really made a difference. Now we can reach out with important information quickly and efficiently”

3 tips from Eric at Capio Elderly and Mobile Care for finding, implementing, and getting started with digital screens
1. Do thorough research and be clear about your needs
Identify your specific needs and conduct a thorough risk analysis. Have a clear picture of what you want to achieve and which features are required.
Tips:
List important features.
Compare suppliers.
See what others in the industry are using.
2. Choose a user-friendly solution and involve the right partners
We chose PLAYipp for its user-friendliness and worked with our internal IT department and Advania for technical support.
Tips:
Choose an easy-to-use solution.
Involve internal IT and/or a reliable IT partner.
Ensure smooth integration with existing systems.
3. Train staff and offer continuous support
We held training sessions and recorded them to reduce resistance and get everyone on board. Sometimes the supplier also offers training, which PLAYipp does. If your organization cannot or does not have time to train your users, this can be a great alternative.
Tips:
Plan training for staff.
Create instructional videos and manuals.
Offer continuous support and be available for questions.
