We started with a simple idea

Information should reach everyone. Not just the people with a desk, an inbox, or time to scroll. Every employee, at every location, should know what’s happening, what matters, and what comes next.

That idea became PLAYipp. Software built to help communication and HR teams publish to digital screens, across offices, production floors, and everywhere in between.

Today, more than 4,000 organizations across Europe use PLAYipp to reach their people.

A team that means it

We are based in Gävle, with offices in Oslo, Örebro, and Stockholm. Across those locations you’ll find people working in product, development, sales, marketing, customer success, and finance.

We move fast, but not carelessly. We argue our corners, then land on the same side. And when a customer picks up the phone, someone who actually knows the product picks it up too.

PLAYipp has since 2006 been a market leader in digital signage and has since developed into a company with a global mindset.

With a broad network of partners around Europe, we focus on developing products with high usability and functions asked for and used in the local market. By doing this we have become the sought-after solution for a large group of clients and partners looking for high-end solutions to handle their growing need for great tools for digital signage.

Our targets are set on a global scale but we always work locally, we can only win together if we do it together. So we work either directly with you or through local partners that know you.

What is your role at PLAYipp?
I’m currently responsible for implementing a new external system to manage orders and licenses. This will be a great help for both our customers and partners. Previously, I worked in support and have spent a lot of time with our internal licensing system.

How long have you been working with us, and what is your educational background?
I’ve been at PLAYipp since 2019, and in terms of education, I don’t have anything beyond high school, where I studied music. After graduation, I went straight into working life and really enjoyed it! 🙂

What’s the best thing about your job, besides your colleagues?
I love that we get to be part of developing our systems! At PLAYipp, everyone can contribute ideas, no matter who they are. You’re given trust and opportunities to grow. I never thought I’d work with implementing internal IT systems—I’m discovering new sides of myself and strengths I didn’t even know I had.🙂

What is your role at PLAYipp?
I’m the Team Leader for support, and together with my amazing colleagues, we’re continuously developing the department.

Why do you enjoy working with support, and what are your strengths as a Team Lead?
Technology and people—making the technology work and helping people understand it. My strengths as a Team Lead are my drive and empathy. I’m good at understanding both sides, allowing us to find solutions together and successfully implement them.

What is your impression of your first time at PLAYipp?
PLAYipp has an incredible company culture. There’s such a great team spirit here, I absolutely love it.

Hello Jens!

What is your role at PLAYipp?
I’ve been working at PLAYipp for 8 years now, mainly in support, handling the more challenging questions. Lots of emails to respond to, and I also answer questions in our chat. I investigate issues and try to find solutions to the problems customers are facing.

When do you enjoy your job the most?
In my role, sometimes I feel like a classic TV detective. You get clues and details about a case, then you have to put it all together and find connections. When everything finally clicks, and I understand how all the pieces fit, who the culprit is, or rather what the issue is and how it can be resolved—that’s when I enjoy my job the most.

Do you have a special memory you can share?
The conference in Italy a couple of years ago definitely stands out. A group of us thought we’d hike up a “hill” that our guide recommended. Turns out, it was actually a small mountain, several hundred meters high. It was hot and challenging, but after a couple of hours, we reached the top.

20 years in the making

PLAYipp has been around since the early days of digital signage. What started as a small operation in Gävle grew into a platform used by thousands of organizations, from Malmö to Oslo to Amsterdam.

We have seen a lot of changelot change in how organizations communicate. The tools have multiplied. The noise has too. The need to actually reach people has never been more urgent.

We built PLAYipp to solve that. And we are still at it.

The first PLAYipper: Magnus looks back on 18 years with PLAYipp

Being employee number one and still being part of the journey is pretty special! Magnus started his journey at PLAYipp before the company was even called PLAYipp. And now, 18 years later, he’s obviously still here. With a smile, he recalls everything from the wild-west feeling of the early days to today’s more structured routines.
