We’ve met with Jenny Sandkvist, a communication strategist at Göteborg Energi. Jenny shares how PLAYipp is a part of their internal communication.

Reaching employees who don’t access the intranet
One of the major benefits Göteborg Energi sees with their digital information screens is reaching employees who don’t access the intranet. They still face the challenge of reaching field technicians who are out at customer sites and not physically at the offices but still need access to important information.
“We need something better than email,” says Jenny Sandkvist, Communications Strategist. They are now exploring how PLAYipp can also be a solution for this challenge.

Strategically placed digital screens
Jenny is currently responsible for the 10 screens strategically placed throughout the organization. Two of the screens are located at various receptions, displaying external information for visitors and guests. The other screens are situated at the headquarters on different floors and other facilities in Gothenburg. The content on the internal screens includes both corporate-wide information and local updates relevant to employees at specific locations. There’s also a need for certain key metrics to be displayed on screens across different departments.
Editor network
“We have an editor network to ensure relevant and current information,” Jenny explains. They use user permissions in PLAYipp so that someone locally in each department can share relevant updates. “They can bounce content ideas from the field, showing different aspects of reality!”
The communications department, led by Jenny, has access to all screens. “With the editor network, we can help each other fill in information and exchange tips and tricks. The challenges are the same as if we had analog bulletin boards. The tool itself has no challenges.”
Jenny also highlights that the tool is user-friendly and flexible, and they allowed all members of the editor network to participate in a training session with PLAYipp. The purpose was to remind the editors of the capabilities and keep them updated. She emphasizes that while the tool is not complicated, its many possibilities sometimes require reminders.
Producing a lot of videos
Jenny notes that PLAYipp has also influenced their communication format. “We produce a lot of videos. With PLAYipp, the videos come to life!” Both internal and external videos are used frequently, making the screens more appealing.
