How to get started
- Create the integration
Go to Integrations in PLAYipp, select Tableau and click “Add to PLAYipp”. Fill in your details and authenticate. - Add source
Once authenticated, you can create a new source to your dashboard. - Publish to screen
Choose where the report should be displayed. Add it to a playlist and publish. Done.
Common questions about Tableau and PLAYipp
Can I customise how the report looks on screen?
Yes. When displaying a Tableau report via PLAYipp, you can adjust the layout, widget size, positioning, and colours/backgrounds to match your visual identity. The Tableau content becomes a natural part of your internal communication.
Does the data update automatically?
Yup. Data is fetched and updated on your screens every 20 minutes. So wait a little after updating a data point before expecting it to appear on screen.
Do I need to code to use the integration?
No coding required. Everything is done through simple interfaces in both Tableau and PLAYipp – designed to be easy, even if you don’t work in IT.
How long does it take to get started?
It’s fast. If you have a Tableau account with the right permissions and know where to find your token details, you can be up and running in under 15 minutes. Never used tokens before? No problem, we’ll help you out.
Is the integration GDPR compliant?
Yes, completely. No personal data is stored in PLAYipp. We simply display content from your dashboards, following all data protection and security regulations. Just make sure the reports themselves don’t contain sensitive data.
What does it cost to use Tableau with PLAYipp?
Nothing extra. As long as you have an active Tableau account and a PLAYipp subscription, you can use the integration at no additional cost.
