Improved visitor experience with digital info screens

Klövern Padel Åby Arena in Mölndal/Gothenburg, one of Europe’s largest padel facilities, has chosen to implement PLAYipp and digital screens to effectively inform its visitors. With PLAYipp, the facility can easily update and disseminate relevant information to all visitors, enhancing communication and the experience for both players and visitors.

One of Europe’s Largest Facilities for Padel – And More!

“I never know what the day will bring, but it’s incredibly fun to see everything coming together,” says Magnus as he guides us around the arena.

Their ambitions are impressive. The project includes a total of 25 padel courts, changing rooms, a sauna, conference rooms, office space, a shop, and a competition court with stands. Once completed, it will be one of Europe’s largest padel facilities. The doors are officially set to open on April 15, 2021, but there’s already plenty of activity on the courts that are ready.

At the time of our visit, the arena was a construction site, bustling with the task of piecing everything together.

During our visit, the professional team from Nordlo was on-site, delivering all the technology, including PLAYipp®, to the facility.

“This is a facility for everyone,” emphasizes Magnus, aiming to build a community for both beginners and elite players, young and old alike, with a special focus on youth. We discussed how padel as an activity has surged in popularity over the last year, yet it hasn’t fully reached the youth. The sport is still relatively expensive, but as more facilities open, it becomes more accessible to a broader audience. Another challenge for the sport is becoming affiliated with the National Sports Association.

In addition to the community feel, the arena is well-positioned for events due to its proximity to several restaurants, hotels, ample parking facilities, and central logistics with nearby bus connections. The arena is also located near the Åby Racecourse, making joint events likely. Hosting both national and international elite competitions in the future is also a possibility.

Combine Work and Padel

The facility will offer lounges for socializing in conjunction with padel. Combining work and padel won’t be a problem, as it will provide both workplaces and conference rooms. 

Given the size of the facility and the variety of activities, informing all visitors is a challenge.

PLAYipp® Is the Obvious Choice

“With PLAYipp®, we’ll easily be able to update everyone with relevant information,” says Magnus. He explains that they have four full-time employees in Gothenburg, each updating information related to their area, such as the reception, shop, competitions, training, restaurant menus, and sponsorship spots.

Klövern padel now operates five facilities across three locations in Sweden. Klövern can publish to all screens, and each facility can post local information based on the rights set up in PLAYipp®.
