Find the right people

Here are some tips how to create a long-term corporate culture. It is important to hire committed employees that fit into your culture. Experience comes with time, or as Peter Schutz, former CEO and chairman of Porsche, put it: "Hire character, train for skill."

Openness and clarity

Transparency is also essential. Being open and clear with your employees will instill loyalty to your company. Employees that are loyal stay for longer, which provides continuity and a long-term commitment.

Individual needs in focus

Don't be too rigid and regulated. People are different and have unique needs. Take care of the individual needs of your employees and they will feel less need to work anywhere else. In short, "one size fits all" is not something to strive for.

Managers embody the culture

Perhaps most important of all – managers and leaders are role models and should always embody the corporate culture. Remember that while everybody in the company does not have to think the same or always share opinions, everyone should understand and accept its basic values.
